![]() ![]() It seems like they have much less tendency to quit, but I am also not familiar with their failure modes. I have seen countless MAF failures on ALH cars but have never seen one on an AHU before. No other codes or misbehavior, trouble seems isolated to the MAF. Air filter is correct paper style, not K&N, though MAF element is presumably fine anyway since the sensor reports normally when it is working. VCDS measuring blocks show proper MAF function some of the time, with car running normally, but at other times they show the ECU's fixed guess value substituted, coupled with corresponding loss of power and one or both of the relevant DTC's.Ĭhecked connections and harness, all are fine. Codes will clear but one or the other or both will usually return after driving, sometimes with MIL. The failure, and which way it fails, is intermittent. Both point to MAF circuit failure, with P1144/17552 denoting circuit short to ground P1145/17553 short to B+. ![]() Checked it out for her and have found codes P1144 and P1145 stored, either one or the other, or sometimes both. Over the past couple weeks she has had an intermittent MIL that came on again and stayed on while driving here for the holiday weekend. A relative is in town for Thanksgiving with her 1997 Jetta. ![]()
